When we first heard about the Tranzfuser programme, we knew it was a huge opportunity for us. Our university had shared about Tranzfuser during our final year. We were in the early stages of developing Erebus-9 and figured we would try our luck in applying. We felt confident we had a strong game concept, but we were completely in the dark when it came to setting up and running a business.

As a UK-wide talent development initiative, Tranzfuser helps aspiring game development teams take their first big step toward establishing a sustainable game dev studio. It offers funding, mentorship, and the part we were most excited about; a chance to learn what it truly takes to turn a creative vision into a viable business.

It’s easy to underestimate how daunting it feels to start something completely new, especially when it involves forming a company from scratch. There were moments when we questioned if we were ready or if our game would stand out among so many talented applicants.

Then came that email. The moment we learned we’d been accepted into Tranzfuser 2025. Our disbelief quickly turned into celebration. It felt surreal to know that the panel saw potential in our vision and believed we have what it takes to succeed. Being selected was more than just validation. For our small team, it was a proud moment that marked the beginning of something much bigger.

Learning and Growth

Throughout the Tranzfuser programme, we gained more than we could have imagined. From development workshops and business mentoring to networking events, every experience helped us refine our game and our understanding of what it means to run a studio. Our mentors played a huge role in our growth. Their feedback was honest and sometimes felt a bit brutal, but always invaluable. They encouraged us to think critically about our creative direction, our audience, and the sustainability of our studio.

We got to showcase at ProtoPlay in Dundee. After months of development, finally showcasing our game to the public was both nerve-wracking and exhilarating. Seeing players get to experience our world first-hand was incredibly rewarding. It was amazing to watch people connect with what we’d built and to hear their genuine thoughts about the gameplay and story. The event also gave us a chance to meet other talented teams, share experiences, and celebrate the creativity that makes the UK games industry so special.

One of our most valuable experiences during Tranzfuser was getting to pitch our game concept to industry veterans. Standing in front of seasoned professionals who had shaped games we admire was a little intimidating, but also really inspiring. It pushed us to refine how we communicated our ideas, like highlighting what made our game unique early in our pitch, and answer tough questions with confidence. The feedback we received was honest, insightful, and instrumental in helping us grow not just as developers, but as presenters and business owners. It was a crash course in professionalism that strengthened our ability to share our passion with others.

Final Thoughts

To any team considering applying for Tranzfuser - go for it. Yes, it’s challenging. Yes, it’s intense. But it’s also one of the most rewarding experiences you can have as an emerging game developer.

For us, Tranzfuser 2025 wasn’t just a programme, it was a turning point. We emerged more confident, more skilled, and more connected than ever before. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us next.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who facilitated and supported this years Tranzfuser programme. We're grateful for the experience and excited for our next steps at Centaurus Software.
